This paper plate jellyfish with crepe paper tentacles is a perfect ocean-themed activity. It’s bright, wiggly, and simple enough for little hands to enjoy. Plus, it works great for an under-the-sea unit or just a lazy summer afternoon at home.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 paper plate
- Colourful crepe paper streamers (or tissue paper strips)
- Glue stick or white glue
- Googly eyes (or markers to draw eyes)
- A pair of scissors
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Cut the Plate in Half

Start by drawing a wavy or curly line across the paper plate, then cut along the line to create the jellyfish’s frilly bottom.

Step 2: Make the face

Draw the face with markers, or glue on googly eyes. Big, silly eyes make it extra fun!
Step 4: Attach the Tentacles

Cut strips of crepe paper (about 8–10 inches long) in various colours.

Curl or twist the crepe paper strips using your finger or a pencil for extra wiggle, then glue them to the flat edge on the back of the plate, so they hang down like flowing jellyfish tentacles.
