Paper Plate Easter Bunny
First on our list is a paper plate bunny purse, and when I tell you that my girls absolutely loved this one, believe me.
Supplies:
- 2 Paper plates
- Pompoms for the nose (Optional)
- Ribbon
- Glue
- Marker
- Googly eyes
Steps:
- Glue two plates together (One half and one whole or two halves), and add the googly eyes, pompom nose, and draw the mouth.
- Next, cut out bunny ears from cardstock or paper plates and glue them behind the paper plate, then draw the whiskers.
Toilet Roll Bunny
I made these when my kids were away in kindergarten. I call them the recycled bunny craft because they’re made from toilet paper rolls.
Materials:
- Toilet paper rolls
- Pompoms
- Googly eyes
- Markers
How to make:
- Cut out the bunny ears from the egg carton cups and glue them on the roll. Then, add googly eyes, a pompom nose and draw your mouth and whiskers.
- Lastly, paint your roll if you’d prefer, and you’re done

Paper Plate Chick
We made these chicks to go with the book “How does an egg hatch?”, It was perfect to teach and show my kids how an egg truly hatches.
Supplies:
- Paper plates
- Yellow paper or tissue paper
- Orange paper
- Googly eyes
- Glue
- Scissors
Steps:
- Cut a paper plate in half to create the base for the chick.
- Tear yellow paper into small pieces and glue them all over the plate to make fluffy feathers.
- Cut a small triangle from orange paper and glue it on as the chick’s beak.
Add googly eyes.

- Leave the plate as it is and decorate the whole plate with yellow paper pieces.
To make a hatching chick: - Cut a zig-zag pattern along the edge of another half paper plate to create a cracked eggshell.
- Cut a yellow circle for the chick’s head and glue it behind the eggshell.
- Add eyes and the orange beak so the chick looks like it’s peeking out of the egg.
Bunny Face & Face Mask
This one was a messy one for sure. I just let my kids play with paint, and boy, was the whole house covered in it, but at least they ended up making cute bunny faces and face masks.
Materials:
- Paper plates
- Paint (pink or any colour)
- Paper for ears and cheeks
- Googly eyes
- Pom-pom (for nose)
- Black marker
- Glue
- Scissors
Steps:
- Paint the paper plate and let it dry.
- Cut two bunny ears from paper and glue them behind the plate.
- Glue on googly eyes and a pom-pom nose. Add paper cheeks.
- Draw whiskers and a smile with a marker.

Don’t the words “no-dye” sound amazing? They certainly do to me! Because as much as dyeing eggs can be fun, we mums know how much work and cleanup it actually takes. And it is completely okay to pass on that mess sometimes. That is why these no-dye egg decorating ideas are such great alternatives. This one is a very popular egg decorating machine that spins the egg while your child holds a marker in one place against it, creating colourful stripes and patterns.
